ZOO BABY! Milwaukee zoo has a new tiny gorilla
MILWAUKEE — There’s a new tiny face at the Milwaukee County Zoo.
Zoo officials announced Wednesday that gorilla Naku gave birth to a female baby on Sept. 9.
According to the zoo officials, Naku is a “wonderful mother, expertly nursing and keeping her close on her chest.”
Naku is a western lowland gorilla, and the father of the baby girl is Cassius.
Zookeepers are selecting a name for the baby and expect to announce it soon.
The zoo said it estimates that the 6-week-old baby weighs about 4 pounds.
