Would-be burglar frightened off by woman
Woman awakened by man trying to get in, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A would-be burglar was frightened off by a woman who spotted the man outside her home early Sunday morning, according to a release from Madison police.
The 23-year-old resident living in the 2400 block of Columbus Circle told police she was awakened by the sounds of someone knock on and then pulling on a sliding glass door on the first floor. She said the man fled when she spotted him.
The door was secured by a handle lock and a metal pipe in the door’s track.
The man is described as black, 20-25 years old, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with black hair worn in dreadlocks. He was wearing a red shirt and camouflage pants.Madison crime map
