‘World Water Week’ To Kick Off With New Water Technology

To launch “World Water Week,” local officials will be introducing brand new, locally invented water reclamation technology on Monday.

Madison Mayor Paul Soglin and Monona Mayor Bob Miller, together with officials from the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District, Madison Water Utility and Hellenbrand Inc., will announce the new methods to reclaim household water and efforts to reduce contamination to area lakes and watershed at the school district’s headquarters on Monday.

Officials from Soglin’s office said these new ideas deliver “the highest standards in efficiency and performance when it comes to saving salt, water and energy consumption.”

Officials said that residents can get involved in World Water Week by dining at 26 local participating restaurants to help raise funds for clean water globally and clean lakes locally, according to a news release issued by Soglin’s office.
