Worker Shocked While Doing Repairs In Portage

A worker was injured in an industrial accident Wednesday afternoon, Portage police said.

Portage police responded at about 2 p.m. Wednesday to a 911 call for an industrial accident at Alter Recycling at 300 E. Mullett St.

Officers determined that a 32-year-old Wisconsin Dells man had been shocked.

The victim was working for a company that was subcontracted by Alters to do roof repairs and maintenance. The victim was being lifted by a sky walk when he made contact with electrical wires, police said.

The victim was transported to Divine Savior Hospital and was later transported to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison by Med Flight for treatment of his injuries.

Police said no foul play is suspected in this incident.
