Work finishes on first home in new Habitat for Humanity neighborhood in Sun Prairie

SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Habitat for Humanity of Dane County has finished work on its first home in Sun Prairie’s Town Hall Crossing neighborhood.

The neighborhood is the site of the largest project in the group’s history in Wisconsin. The 62-acre site will feature 118 single-family homes, 40% of which will be built by Habitat for Humanity.

Ashley Burdick and her three kids will soon move into the first home in the community.

“The kids and I have somewhere that we can move into right away, so that really is very special to me,” she said. “I’m very grateful for that.”

The neighborhood is made possible by a $250,000 grant from the CUNA Mutual Group Foundation.
