Woodman’s employee punched by suspected shoplifter
Police: Woman left store without paying
MADISON, Wis. — A Woodman’s Food Market employee was punched by a woman he suspected of shoplifting, according to a release from Madison police.
The 28-year-old employee of the store on South Gammon Road told police he left the store Friday night around 9 p.m. to follow a woman who had not paid for several bags of groceries. He said he asked to her to come back into the store to resolve the situation and was punched several times in the face.
Britteny Nelson, 22, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of battery and retail theft.
