Woman’s vehicle hit by slow-moving train near John Nolen Drive

MADISON, Wis. — A woman’s vehicle sustained heavy damage after it was hit by a slow-moving train Monday afternoon.

According to an incident report, the woman was traveling southbound on John Nolen Drive when she turned onto East Lakeside Street, not realizing a train was nearing the roadway. The railroad barrier arm came down on top of her vehicle as the train approached.

Police said the woman’s vehicle sustained significant front end damage. The woman was not injured in the collision, but according to the report, she was quite shaken after the incident. She was cited for failure to yield.
