Woman swerves to avoid deer, extricated from wrecked car
MINERAL POINT, Wis. — A woman was injured in a rollover wreck in Iowa County Thursday night, officials said.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said a woman was driving west on Highway 39 at 8:30 p.m. and swerved to miss a deer near County Road QQ.
According to the report, the woman overcorrected, crossing the highway and causing the car to roll.
She was extricated by a Mineral Point Fire Department crew.
The driver was taken by ambulance to Upland Hills Hospital. Officials said she escaped serious injuries.
The woman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be involved,, the sheriff’s office said.
