Woman suspected of taking Lexus arrested in Monroe
TOWN OF MONROE, Wis. — Officials say a woman accused of taking a Lexus from out of state was arrested in Green County early Friday.
The Green County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy stopped the driver of a 1997 Lexus on Highway 69 at about 6:18 a.m. in the town of Monroe for a suspected speeding violation. The deputy subsequently learned the car had been taken a week earlier during a burglary in Winnebago County, Illinois.
Alicia E. Johnson, 22, of Freeport, Illinois, was arrested, on a felony charge of operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, according to the report.
Johnson was also cited on suspicion of not having a valid driver’s license. She was taken to Green County Jail. The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office in Illinois is also investigating.
