Woman struck with chair at State Street restaurant
Man throws chair during confrontation, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A 21-year-old Madison woman was struck with a chair during a confrontation at the Wendy’s on State Street Sunday afternoon.
The woman told Madison police she and a friend were speaking loudly inside the restaurant at 534 State St. around 1 p.m. when a man entered. She said she and her friend were not arguing, but were using vulgar language, and the man who entered asked if the language was directed at him.
Witnesses told police the man picked up a chair, threw it, and it hit the woman’s head.
The woman needed multiple stitches.
Rodney L. Jenkins, 45, of Madison, was arrested on suspicion of substantial battery and disorderly conduct.
