Woman sexually assaulted behind school
Early evening attack halted by passing headlights
MADISON, Wis. — Police said a woman was attacked Monday evening outside of Lincoln Elementary School on Sequoia Trail.
The 34-year-old victim was sexually assaulted as she walked behind the school at about 8 p.m. The attack ended when passing car headlights scared off the assailant, according to the report.
The woman suffered facial injuries in the assault.
Madison police said a 30-year-old person of interest is in custody, but his name was not released. The individual has not yet been arrested.
According to the police report, the the victim did not know the man who attacked her.
