Woman run over by own car seriously injured, deputies say

A 67-year-old woman was injured Wednesday when she was accidentally run over by her own vehicle, Dodge County sheriff’s officials said.

Dodge County officials were called just before 9 p.m. to N4131 County Road P for reports of a woman being run over by her own vehicle, according to a release.

The woman was securing a child into a car seat when the vehicle began rolling backward, investigators said. The vehicle, which had been left in neutral accidentally, rolled over the woman, causing serious injuries to her upper body.

The woman was taken by helicopter to Summit Aurora Hospital with serious injuries, deputies said.

Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors in the incident, according to the release.

The name of the victim is not being released, sheriff’s officials said.
