Not guilty plea entered for woman accused in fatal Fitchburg stabbing

MADISON, Wis. — A woman accused of stabbing a man to death in a Fitchburg apartment in September is having a not guilty plea entered on her behalf.
A preliminary hearing was held for Kania C. Quinn, 33, Wednesday at the Dane County Courthouse.
Quinn stood mute during the hearing and the plea was entered on her behalf.
Quinn is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the murder of 62-year-old Fred Edwards Jr.
Fitchburg Police say that Quinn and Edwards Jr. were living together and that she had admitted to stabbing him multiple times while the two were in Illinois.
She also reportedly admitted to arguing with Edwards Jr. on the night that he was found dead.
Quinn’s bond is set at $1 million.
