Woman killed in rollover crash near Watertown ID’d

WATERTOWN, Wis. — The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office on Monday identified the woman killed in a crash near Watertown last week.

Stacy Sigmund, 42, of Jefferson, died after her vehicle rolled over multiple times during a crash just before 5:20 p.m. on August 9, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Sigmund was heading north on a ramp from State Highway 26 to eastbound State Highway 16 northwest of Watertown when she failed to negotiate a curve and left the road. She died at the scene.

No one else was in her vehicle at the time.

The sheriff’s office did not say what may have caused the crash.

Editor’s note: A news release from the sheriff’s office spelled the victim’s last name as Sugmund, but an obituary for her spelled it Sigmund.
