Woman hung effigy doll, charged with hate crime, officials say
A Janesville woman was charged with disorderly conduct and committing a hate crime, according to a release.
Janesville police officers responded to reports of a hate crime Thursday around 7 p.m., according to the release.
Officials said Deborah Boudreau, 54, of Janesville, had hung an African American doll on her front porch.
Officials said the doll was hung in effigy with a noose around the neck with its arms pinned up vertically, in an area easily viewed by the public.
Boudreau is charged with disorderly conduct/crimes committed against certain people or property, according to the release.
