Woman getting in car robbed at gunpoint

A woman who was entering her vehicle was robbed at gunpoint early Tuesday, police said.

Fitchburg police said on Tuesday at about 6:30 a.m. officers responded to the 5100 block of Anton Drive for a report of an armed robbery.

Police said a woman was entering her vehicle and getting ready to leave when a man approached her car. He pointed a handgun toward the female’s head and took personal property from her. He was last seen leaving the area on foot.

The robber was described as a black, 6 feet tall, approximately 30 to 40 years old, with a thin build. He was wearing a black winter stocking hat and black clothes.

There were no injuries during this incident and no arrests have been made, according to the report.

Fitchburg PD said the Madison Police Department assisted Fitchburg officers on the case.
