Woman facing 3rd OWI; crash sends three to the hospital

Police: Man spits into, jumps on hood, roof of car, scares 2 women inside

A 40-year-old woman is facing a 3rd offense OWI, after a head-on crash sent three people to the hospital.

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies were called the accident along County Highway P near Stagecoach Road in the Town of Cross Plains at 10:30 p.m. Friday.

Investigators say Christine R. Weeks was driving south on the highway when she crossed into oncoming traffic. A van tried to avoid Weeks by moving into the southbound lanes, but Weeks swerved back, and crashed into the van.

The driver of the van, 67-year-old Cheryl A. Frey and her passenger were taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Weeks was Medflighted to UW hospital for serious injuries.

Weeks was cited for OWI-3rd offense, open bottles of alcohol in a car and driving in the wrong lane.
