Woman faces charges after ramming car at stop light
Police: Woman picked up later for OWI on SE Side
MADISON, Wis. — A 21-year-old woman faces hit-and-run charges after Madison police say she struck a car waiting at a stop light at a high rate of speed.
The incident happened just before 1:30 a.m. at the corner of North Blair Street and East Washington Avenue.
According to police, Marissa Meiller was driving the car that struck another car stopped at that intersection. Police said a city of Madison Parking Enforcement Officer saw the accident and was able to provide the license plate and which way the car went following the accident.
Officers ended up finding Meiller’s car with significant front end damage and two airbags deployed near the intersection of South Stoughton Road and Buckeye Road.
Police said Meiller was assessed for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, but was deemed not to be impaired at the time of the accident. She was cited for hit-and-run to an occupied vehicle along with inattentive driving.
