Woman escapes attempted sexual assault

A woman told Madison police she was pulled into an SUV Friday night where a man tried to sexually assault her.

The 29-year-old Madison resident told police she was walking in the 6700 block of Park Edge Drive between 10:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. when a black four-door SUV drove past, did a U-turn and pulled near her.

She said a man asked her if she wanted to smoke marijuana. She said she declined but moved toward the SUV, and the driver opened his door, knocking her to the pavement. She told investigators she was pulled into the SUV where the man tried to sexually assault her. She said she screamed and kicked and was able to escape.

The man is described as black, 30 to 39 years old, 5 feet 11 to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 185 to 200 pounds, with a medium build, beer belly, pock marks or razor bumps on his face, a nose with wide or flared nostrils and wearing a zip-up maroon sweatshirt.
