Woman escapes armed home invasion, police say
Police believe burglary was targeted
MADISON, Wis. — A 20-year-old woman was able to escape Thursday night after an armed man broke into her apartment.
Police were called at 7:45 p.m. to an apartment in the 3100 block of Ridgeway Avenue on a report of a home invasion.
The woman said the man pushed his way into the apartment, pointed a handgun at her and threatened her. She shares the apartment with others and was home alone at the time.
As the man looked through various rooms in the apartment, she ran away. She said she spotted two men in the hallway with bandannas over their faces. She said they appeared to be acting and lookouts.
She said all three men left moments later.
Police believe that the burglary was targeted, but it’s not certain what, if anything, was stolen.
