Woman entering apartment grabbed from behind by stranger, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A downtown Madison woman was grabbed from behind by a stranger while she was entering her apartment building early Friday morning, but she was able to get away, police said.
The Madison Police Department said the woman was walking home at about 1 a.m. in the 400 block of North Henry Street.
According to the report, after the man grabbed her, she was able to get inside and slam the door, keeping the man out.
The man is described as Hispanic, 20-25 years old, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds, police said. He had black medium-length hair that was slicked back. He was wearing a white T-shirt with red lettering and distressed, light-colored jeans.
The victim told police she thought he may have followed her for a couple of blocks.
