OSHKOSH, Wis. — A 53-year-old woman is dead after being struck by two vehicles in Oshkosh.
Police said a 45-year-old female driver from Oshkosh struck Gina Micheln, 53, of Oshkosh, who was in the roadway. A sports utility vehicle then hit the injured pedestrian as she lay in the street at about 1:50 a.m. Friday.
She died at a local hospital.
The driver of the first vehicle was taken into custody. Detectives believe alcohol may have played a role in the crash.
Police are looking for the driver of the sports utility vehicle.
“The white-colored SUV stopped, backed up and left the scene without reporting anything to the police department and is, at this time, unknown where the vehicle is or the driver,” said Eric Stenson from the Oshkosh Police Department.
