Woman Accused In Death Threat Case Pleads Guilty

A woman accused of emailing death threats to Republican state legislators after they passed sweeping restrictions on public workers’ union rights has entered a guilty plea in Dane County Circuit Court.

Katherine Windels, 27, of Cross Plains, was charged in April with sending emails to state senators in March warning them that they would be shot in the head and bombs had been planted around their homes and cars.

As a result of the guilty plea, one bomb threat charge is being dropped against Windels.

Windels is now entering into a deferred prosecution agreement. If she completes it, she’ll avoid jail time.
