Wollersheim Winery, UW students collaborate to release new Red Fusion wine
Wollersheim Winery will be releasing a new wine Wednesday in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin-Madison fermentation sciences program, according to a release.
The winery and the UW program have been collaborating on Red Fusion over the last year.
According to the release, the development of the wine was an educational experience for students, allowing them to explore viticulture, enology and the fermentation process.
The wine is made from Wisconsin-grown grapes and was barrel-aged in Wollersheim’s cellars for six months.
The wine will be released Wednesday at the winery. Red Fusion will also be available at Union South and other university venues.
According to the release, all proceeds from the wine are going to fund the fermentation sciences program.
