Wisconsin men’s hockey continues to struggle

Badger women’s hockey picked to win WCHA

Wisconsin men’s hockey fell to 2-17-4 Friday night in Pegula Ice Arena as they fell to Penn State 5-2.

The score didn’t reflect how close the game actually was, as both teams tallied 37 shots on goal.

For UW, Cameron Hughes put the Badgers on top 2-1 in the first period. Hughes scored both first period goals for Wisconsin.

Early in the second period, the Nittany Lions responded when Eric Scheid tied the game at 2-2. A little later in the third, David Goodwin gave Penn State the lead for good.

Penn State tacked on two more goals in the third period to win 5-2.

The Nittany Lions host the Badgers again Saturday, with the game starting at 1 p.m.
