Wisconsin men fall to Gophers 5-2

Badgers fare well in Academic Progress Rates

Wisconsin men’s hockey fell to Minnesota 5-2 Saturday at Mariucci Arena.

Minnesota opened the game with three goals in the first period. The Badgers offense couldn’t keep pace and the Gophers held a 3-0 at the first intermission.

In the second period, Minnesota added two more goals to make it 5-0. Near the end of the second period, UW finally broke through with a goal from Grant Besse. Besse scored another goal in the third period to make it 5-2.

Wisconsin goalie Joel Rumpel tallied 45 saves in a losing effort.
