Wisconsin loses Big Ten Championship to Ohio State 27-21
Badgers will likely not advance to playoffs
The Wisconsin Badgers suffered their first loss of the season in a 27-21 defeat at the hands of Ohio State in the Big Ten Championship game Saturday.
The Badgers’ only loss of the season will likely take them out of CFP consideration.
J.T. Barrett threw for two touchdowns, ran for another and had a crucial fourth-down conversion as the Buckeyes held off Wisconsin 27-21 in the Big Ten championship game. He powered in from the 1-yard line to give the Buckeyes a 21-7 lead early in the second quarter.
Barrett finished 12 of 26 with 211 yards, two TDs and two interceptions while rushing 19 times for 60 yards less than a week after knee surgery. His TD passes were 84 yards to Terry McLaurin and a short throw that Parris Campbell turned into a 57-yard touchdown.
The game ended with an interception by Alex Hornibrook in the final moment.
Wisconsin will most likely not advance to the college football playoffs.
