Wisconsin Ethics and Elections Commission clears ethics administrator of wrongdoing
MADISON, Wis. — The Wisconsin Ethics and Elections Commission announced Monday there is no probable cause to believe allegations against ethics commission administrator Brian Bell.
Some lawmakers and the attorney general raised concerns that Bell and elections administrator Mike Haas were involved in a partisan way in last year’s John Doe investigation.
However, an ethics investigation found no evidence to support those concerns.
The state Senate will vote Tuesday on the confirmation of Bell and Haas to their positions on the commission.
Senate majority leader, Scott Fitzgerald said Republicans will likely vote to reject both.
