Wisconsin Dells waterpark hotel evacuated due to fire, officials say

Atlantis Waterpark Hotel and Suites of Wisconsin Dells was evacuated for two hours Saturday night due to a fire in a guest room, according to officials.

Lake Delton police and firefighters arrived at the resort at 6:45 p.m. for a fire alarm that was set off, said Sgt. Daniel Hess of the Lake Delton Police Department.

Hess said crews remained at the scene until the fire was extinguished around 8 p.m.

The fire was in a ceiling vent of a guest room, and one entire wing of the building was evacuated by responders, said Hess.

The fire was not near the waterpark, and clean-up crews were in place Sunday morning, said Jaymie Brandt, Atlantis Waterpark Hotel and Suites general manager.

Brandt said there was minimal damage and anyone staying close to where the fire occurred was moved to another room.

“In a packed motel like this it is nice when they have the alarms that work so we can respond quickly,” said Hess.

Brandt said no one was injured.
