Wisconsin congressman Ryan visits NC for Romney

Ryan criticized Pres. Obama for the state of the economy

The chief budget-writer in the U.S. House of Representatives visited North Carolina on behalf of Mitt Romney to talk with business leaders.

Republican Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan met with seven businessmen at a Raleigh restaurant Tuesday morning and talked about closing corporate loopholes. Ryan also criticized President Obama’s handling of the economy and his health care plan.

North Carolina’s unemployment rate is one of the highest in the country.

Ryan continued to dodge questions about the vice presidency.

The North Carolina Democratic party organized protesters at the event and a Democratic National Committee spokesman said Ryan’s visit was an “audition” for the vice presidency.

Ryan’s round-table comes a day before Vice President Joe Biden visits Winston-Salem.
