Wis. man held on $2M bond in wife’s killing

A central Wisconsin man is now charged with killing his wife, whom he reported missing last month.

Forty-nine-year-old Mark Bucki was ordered held Tuesday on $2 million bond after his first court appearance.

Bucki is charged in Lincoln County with first-degree intentional homicide, hiding a corpse and strangulation and suffocation in the death of his 48-year-old wife, Anita.

Bucki reported his wife missing April 26. Her body was found last Friday in a swampy, wooded area of Taylor County.

Investigators found blood on the living room carpet of the Buckis’ house, on Mark Bucki’s boots, jeans and a hat. Authorities are still waiting for lab results to confirm it’s human blood, since Mark Bucki was an avid hunter.

WSAW-TV reports Bucki is expected to return to court May 23.
