Winter glove stalls elevator in downtown Madison building
MADISON, Wis. — An item of cold-weather wear held up an elevator in a downtown Madison building Monday morning, officials said.
The Madison Fire Department said a crew responded to a report of a stalled elevator at the City-County Building on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at 9:55 a.m. Dispatchers told the fire crew that several occupants stepped onto one of the elevator, but after the doors closed, it felt as though the elevator wasn’t moving.
Firefighters went to the floor where the elevator car was last known to be and noticed a winter glove stuck in the door. Firefighters removed the glove with a tug and the elevator started to move along on its own.
