Windsor man charged with bringing tobacco, porn into prison

A Windsor man was charged Wednesday with bringing contraband into a prison for inmates, according to a release.

Anthony Blevins, 43, was charged in a two-count indictment with public corruption crimes, officials said.

The indictment alleges that on Oct. 15, 2014, and between Jan. 28, 2015, and March 9, 2015, Blevins brought contraband into the Federal Correctional Institution in Oxford. Blevins was an employee of the prison at the time, according to the release.

The first county charges Blevins with bringing in loose tobacco for an inmate in exchange for a $1,000 bribe, officials said. The second count charges Blevins with bringing in pornographic magazines for an inmate in exchange for $1,800.

If convicted, Blevins faces up to 15 years in federal prison on each count.
