Wind Chill Advisory issued ahead of arctic blast

Alert days remain in the forecast as some of the coldest air of the winter thus far spills into southern Wisconsin tonight and early Friday.

As skies clear out tonight, overnight low temperatures on Friday will fall to near 10 to 15 below zero. The record low temperature for Madison on Friday is -13 set in 1951. Wind chills will range  from -10 to -25.

Dangerous wind chills as such could lead to frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes. As a result, a Wind Chill Advisory has been issued for all of Southern Wisconsin from 8PM Thursday through 10AM Friday. Minimal to very limited outdoor exposure is suggested during this time.
