CBD oil usage growing in Madison
Willy Street Co-op is now offering cannabidiol oil as a nutritional supplement to juice smoothies and coffees.
According to a release, CBD is a naturally occurring compound found in the cannabis plant, but it does not get you high. The dose of the nutritional supplement is .75 ml from the brand Plus CBD. which has a water-soluble formula that is not available as a retail product.
CBD can be used to address anxiety and help patients who have insomnia. Other potential benefits include helping ease the effects of epilepsy and multiple sclerosis, clearing up acne and reducing blood pressure.
Hemp-derived CBD products are 100 percent legal in Wisconsin.
“We decided to add this as a supplement because we had customers asking for it and because it’s been extremely popular in our wellness department,” says Brendon Smith communications director at Willy Street Co-op.
The supplement costs $1.25 and will be available at all three Willy Stree Co-op locations. The Willy Street Co-op also sells CBD in chocolate, beer and body care products.
