William H. “Bill” Hahn

DEFOREST-William H. “Bill” Hahn, age 93, died on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at Parkside Assisted Living in DeForest after a brief illness.

He began his career as a plumber/electrician for Taylor hardware, followed by 30 plus years hauling milk for area farmers. After selling his milk business he worked for his son as a fork lift operator at Kennedy-Hahn until his retirement in 2003.

Bill was born on May 19, 1923, in Arlington and was the son of Adolph and Hattie (Manthe) Hahn. He married Evelyn (Schultz) Hahn on Jan. 3, 1945.

Bill is survived by his son, William (Diane) Hahn and his daughter, Julie (Grayson) Robinson; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip (Kathy) Hahn; sister-in-law, Valeria Gundlach; brother-in-law, Herbert (Gayno) Schultz; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife in 2007; brothers, Vern and Adolph Jr.; sisters, Violet Gehrke and Iva Pache; sisters-in-law, Arlette Schultz, Pat Schultz and Darlene Lerch; and brothers-in-law, Harold Gehrke, William Pache, Wilmer Schultz, Donovan Schultz, Charles Schultz, Harold Lerch and Robert Gundlach.

Funeral services will be held at ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH, W6906 County Road K Arlington, at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, North Leeds. A visitation will be held on Friday at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017, and at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.

The family would like to thank Pastor Scott Schwertfeger and Pastor Jacob Scott for their many visits and prayers. The family would also like to thank all the employees of Parkside Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice for their support and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Zion Lutheran Church of Leeds.
