William “Bill” R. Kohn

LODI-The Lord took William “Bill” R. Kohn, age 62, of Lodi, in his favorite place (his pumpkin patch) unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.

He was born on Feb. 11, 1950, in Madison, the son of Robert and Madonna Kohn. Bill married the love of his life, Grace Haberman, on Nov. 17, 1978, in Lodi. He graduated from Lodi High School in 1968. Bill took great pride in his produce stand on the corner of Hwy 60 at Kohn Road. He was most proud of his children and grandchildren. Bill treasured his Oliver tractor collection. He worked the land that he loved all his life on his family farm, and also worked as a guard at Mendota Mental Health Center for many years.

Bill is survived by his wife, Grace Kohn; children, Scott Hubanks, Dan Hubanks, Becky (Teddy) Merwin, and Kelly (Brad) Rahmlow; grandchildren, Hailey Snyder, Tony Thurber, Terrell Merwin, Carter Merwin, Jaydin and Lily Hubanks, and William and Avery Rahmlow; sister, Karon (Pete Gilbertson) Hamilton; and brother, Gene (Katie) Kohn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 655 S. Main St. , Poynette, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012. Visitation will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. A special thank you to Lodi EMS for the care they gave Bill. He was deeply loved by his family and many friends. He will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held at HAMRE GUNDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Thursday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 655 S. Main St. , Poynette, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.
