William ‘Bill’ Coors dies at 102

William “Bill” Coors, the former chairman of Adolph Coors Co. and grandson of the company’s founder, has died at 102, The Associated Press reported.

He passed Saturday at his home in Golden, Colorado, Molson Coors Brewing Co. told the wire service.

Coors was chairman from 1959 to 2000 and helped to grow the company into one of the world’s largest brewers. He also helped the company introduce the modern aluminum beverage can in 1959 after earning chemical-engineering degrees from Princeton University, the AP said.

Coors was also an official taste tester for the company and continued that duty until his 100 th birthday.
