William B. Bennett
William “Buck” Bennett, age 87, left this earth peacefully, with his family by his side, on Thursday, July 26, 2012 following a stroke at Bloomfield Healthcare & Rehab. Buck was a man who loved life and his friends. His greatest loves were his family and watching sports. He sacrificed a chance to play baseball professionally, choosing instead to move to Wisconsin to help with the family farm. He served as a Model Soldier during WWII.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Carol Allen in 1994; his parents, Harry and Lyda (Moon) Bennett and a brother, George Bennett.
Buck is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lois Elaine Laufenberg-Bennett; his daughter, Kathy (David) Bardell of Dodgeville; his son, Kurt Bennett of Dodgeville; two grandchildren, Zachary Bennett of Chicago, IL and Calynn Bennett of Livingston; Lois’s children, Philip Daly of Milwaukee and Dave (Marni) Laufenberg of Highland as well as many cousins, other relatives and friends.
In keeping with Buck’s wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at Bloomfield at a later date.
