‘What’s going on? And why me?’ Homeowner speaks out after Janesville teens break into his home
JANESVILLE, Wis. — Janesville police have three people in custody in connection to a home break-in on Sharon Street that was caught on surveillance camera earlier this week.
According to a release from the department, Reno Thom, 19, Hunter Henkel, 18, and Savannah Newland, 19, were arrested for charges ranging from burglary, theft and party to a crime.
The homeowner, who was out of state at the time, is asking to stay anonymous but spoke with News 3 Now Friday evening.
“The way they came into the house… they came in with purpose,” he said. “They knocked down the door. They kicked everything down.”
The homeowner said he was able to see what was going on through an app on his phone, and immediately called his neighbors to ask them to call local police.
Police say items like televisions and other valuables were taken from the home.
