We all face pressure. It can come from societal expectations, messages on social media, peer pressure or something else. Whatever the case, there’s no group more vulnerable than kids. They’re not only figuring out who they are, but they’re forced to weigh that against mounting expectations.

SSM Health and News 3 Now want kids to be confident in being unique. Together, we’ve created the Time For Kids #BeYou campaign to encourage children to be who they are and who they want to be.

Asking for ambassadors

Sometimes kids need a little help to find their way. That’s why we’re searching for a group of #BeYou ambassadors.

Our ambassadors will be those who work closely with children and teenagers in our communities. Whether you’re a teacher, youth group leader or coach, anyone is welcome. Ambassadors will help spread the message that it’s great to be one-of-a-kind.

Join the #BeYou movement! We know kids are happiest when they can be themselves. That’s why we’re partnering w/ @WISCTV_News3 to encourage kids to just #BeYou! If you work with kids, apply to be a #BeYou Ambassador today! https://t.co/piGoqFuLDW pic.twitter.com/g8oL72hRo2

What are the benefits of being a #BeYou ambassador?

For starters, #BeYou-branded materials will help get ambassadors going. The materials include drawstring backpacks, notebooks, folders and pencils to use at your discretion. They could be handed out as rewards for kids who exemplify the #BeYou concept or a way to simply spread the word.

Also included in our starter kit are pledge cards for children and teens to sign and keep. By doing so, they promise to always try to be themselves and encourage the same from friends and family members. The pledge cards include information on how to share pictures, videos and stories. Our hope is that the positive #BeYou message goes viral!

The program is meant to be a resource, not a burden. We will provide guidance on ways to promote the #BeYou message on a regular basis. We’ll also check in about what’s going on with your efforts, because some of them might deserve a mention on TV and social media.

If you’re interested in becoming a #BeYou ambassador, you’re asked to fill out a brief application by April 26. You should receive a message thanking you for your submission. SSM Health and News 3 Now will review applications and contact selected ambassadors.
