West, Oregon, Sugar River take second at state
Mount Horeb defeats Edgewood in girls soccer

Madison West, Oregon and Sugar River all took second place at the WIAA State Girls Soccer Championships Saturday at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee.

In Division One, Amanda Durst scored the only goal of the game off a corner kick in Divine Savior Holy Angels’ 1-0 win over Madison West. The Regents finished the season 13-7-4.

In Division Two, Oregon and Homestead battled to a scoreless tie after two overtimes, and the Highlanders won the shootout, 2-1.  Oregon, the defending Division Two champions, finished the season 17-3-5.

In Division Three, Emily Cervantes scored three goals as Catholic Memorial defeated Sugar River, 5-0. The Raiders ended the season with their first appearance in a state championship game with a 23-3-2 record.

In Division Four, Hannah Compernolle scored in the 23rd minute to give The Prairie School a 1-0 win over Aquinas for the state championship.
