Werner Feutz, age 99, passed away on Mon. Apr. 17, 2017 at Aster Assisted Living in Monroe.
He was born Columbia Co., WI on Sept. 10, 1917 to the late Fred and Elise (Steffan) Feutz. He was a graduate of Waterloo High School and went on to attend University of Wisconsin Madison Dairy Short Course. The following semester his instructor asked him to teach butter making. Werner was united in marriage to Marion Auer on Mar. 22, 1941. Together they made brick and Colby longhorn cheese for Hubbleton Co-op until 1952. Werner went on to manage the Farmers and Merchants Bank in Marshall, WI for 23 years before retiring in 1975. Following retirement he and Marion enjoyed living in Largo, FL. Werner was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waterloo and served on church council, served on Waterloo City Council, managed the Waterloo Fireman’s Baseball Team, and was a charter leader of the Boy Scouts and Explorer Scouts of Waterloo which he enjoyed for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 76 years, Marion; 2 children, Rich (Lucie) Feutz of Palm Desert, CA., and Sharon (Dale) Voss of Monroe; 3 grandchildren, Nicole (Dan) Belk, Nathanael (Julia) Voss, Noah (Jennifer) Voss; 6 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Adam, Lauren, and Aaron Belk, Aiden and Johnathon Voss.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Gertrude Feutz, John (Betty) Feutz, and Frederick (Doris) Feutz. A private family service will be held.
