Welcome to the team: Meet Columbia County’s new K-9 officers
PORTAGE, Wis. — The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is adding two K-9 officers to its team.
K-9 Artus will be assigned to work with Deputy Derek Jesko. The pair will be assigned to patrol duties on day shift.
K-9 Jax will work with Deputy Travis Lange. They’ll be responsible for patrol duties on the night shift.
Both K-9 officers are certified in drug scent, tracking, patrol and article searches, said Columbia County Sheriff Roger Brandner.
Deputy Jesko and Deputy Lange were certified in K-9 Handler Training this past weekend, Brandner said.
