Waunakee, Sun Prairie, Monona Grove remain in AP Top 10
Verona starting to get votes in state poll
MADISON, Wis. — Three Madison area high school football teams are ranked in this week’s Associated Press high school football poll, and there’s a chance a fourth team could join them soon.
Waunakee and Sun Prairie are ranked second and third in this week’s large division poll, which is unchanged from last week. Monona Grove jumped up two notches to seventh this week.
Verona, which hasn’t been ranked since the first poll of the season, is now getting votes in the poll after winning all their games since an opening week loss against Sun Prairie.
Mount Horeb-Barneveld has jumped one notch to seventh place in the medium school poll.
Southwest Wisconsin is well represented in the small school poll. Lancaster is ranked third in this week’s poll, while Potosi is ranked fifth, and Cuba City is ranked eighth. Deerfield and Randolph also got votes in this week’s poll.
This will be the last weekend of regular season games before the playoffs begin the week of October 15 th .
