Police in Waunakee are responding to multiple reports of burglaries in one night, according to a news release.

The Waunakee Police Department said it responded to a report of a burglary that had just occurred at a home on Dunwoody Lane at 8:18 p.m. Monday. The resident was inside her home when a male entered through an unlocked door. He fled when he was confronted by the homeowner.

Waunakee police said officers responded to four additional burglaries during the evening hours Monday and the morning hours of Tuesday. The burglaries took place on Blue Ridge Trail, Daily Drive, Tara Lane and Kilkenny Trail.

A silver Ford Explorer with license plate 398-ZEF was stolen from one of the residences, police said.

Investigators believe the thieves got inside through open garage doors.

Police are looking for three individuals. All three were wearing dark clothing and possibly driving an older model, light-colored, four-door sedan, the report said.

Police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest of the people involved, according to a news release. Anyone with tips can call 608-849-4523 or 608-849-2847.
