Waunakee boys baseball team bests Edgewood

A battle between baseball teams from the Badger North and the Badger South conferences resulted in a great game on Thursday night as Waunakee needed extra innings to beat Edgewood, 7-5.
The game was played at Warner Park in Madison.
In the top of the sixth inning, with the game tied at 4-4 and two outs, Waunakee’s Max Chamberlin hit a long one to left. The Crusaders can’t come up with the catch, which allowed a run to score.
Waunakee scored three runs in the sixth inning to take a 5-4 lead.
But Edgewood tied it in the bottom of the sixth. With two outs, Jack Reiland hit a shot down the line, which brought in a run to tie the game at 5-5.
As the game headed into extra innings, Waunakee scored two runs in the ninth inning to win it 7-5.
