Wanted man found under motel room bed, registered under fake name
Sauk County officials arrested a man hiding under a motel room bed after getting a tip that he was staying there under a fake name, authorities said.
The Sauk County Sheriff’s Office got information 25-year-old James Heather, who was wanted by the Department of Corrections, was staying at a motel in the Spring Green area, according to a release.
Deputies said they also got information that Heather could be in possession of a firearm and methamphetamine.
Officials found Heather at the Spring Green Motel, where he was registered under a false name, according to the release. Deputies found him hiding under a bed with a firearm by his side and the false identification he had registered with. He was arrested without incident.
When authorities searched Heather’s room, they found over 8 grams of methamphetamine, as well as numerous items of drug paraphernalia, including syringes, electronic scales and packaging materials, according to the release.
Heather was arrested on tentative charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver it.
