Wandering Wisconsin: Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE — There are a lot of great cities in Wisconsin worth visiting. One of the most iconic, and the state’s largest city, is just over an hour from the Madison area.

Milwaukee, the Cream City, earned its nickname because of its many historic buildings with cream colored bricks.

The city has transformed over the last few decades. It’s turned into a cultural center and has become a great destination for music lovers with the Pabst Theater, Summerfest and The Rave being three major attractions.

Milwaukee also has plenty of opportunities to get outside with beautiful beaches along Lake Michigan and lots of hiking trails like the Hank Aaron State Trail.

Foodies will also love the great restaurant scene and the Milwaukee Public Market.
