Walker says he texts advice to Ryan
Ryan, Walker at forefront of conservative movement in Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said he regularly exchanges text messages with U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan, including passing along scripture verses and campaign advice.
Walker said Wednesday in an interview with The Associated Press that he’s been reminding Ryan, now that he’s Mitt Romney’s vice presidential running mate, to get enough sleep, eat well and pay attention to his family.
Walker said Ryan gave him the same advice during his recall campaign.
Walker and Ryan, who lives in his native Janesville, are just two years apart in age and have been at the forefront of the conservative movement in Wisconsin.
Walker said he texted Ryan on Monday affirming how he handled hecklers at the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines. Walker said Ryan handled it perfectly by urging respect, then getting back on message.
